Teaching at Inland Yoga
Teaching is an art, and try not to assume that just because you graduate, you are ready to teach. Your graduation is simply your first step in your wonderful journey. If you want to teach for Inland Yoga Centers or any affiliate studios we require the following:
- Be prepared to take a short course (additional cost) on how to teach for our studios, and address issues that come up with teaching, this is at your expense, but of great benefit.
- Be prepared to audition for a class
- Must teach/sub a minimum of 20 classes before you are eligible to audition and/or teach. These are the same 20 classes for teacher training, not an additional
- Be aware that just because you are on the schedule, your classes may not build immediately
- Attend all quarterly teacher meetings
Becoming a Teacher Trainer
This is a possibility, but not for everyone. This takes time, you can't rush this. You should have a continuous practice, be teaching at the studios, and open to learning. Don't assume that just because you graduated you are ready to train people. You will have to complete the following, and it usually takes a MINIMUM of one year, and even then you will be working with a senior teacher.
- This requires dedication and continuous education
- You must take a course in how to teach teachers (additional cost)
- Assist your teachers in the weekend classes for at least 3 months
- Be evaluated on skill and understanding
